Welcome to The Fitness Loft! I'm Jeff May, Jr. Our family is proud to bring a locally-owned business to south Columbus. The Fitness Loft takes a holistic approach to health and wellness by focusing on the mind, body, and community. We have state-of-the-art equipment from Technogym that will prescribe individualized workouts, as well as track strength and cardio progress. Arguably just as important as exercise, nutritional education and support are centerpieces of our philosophy. With the inclusion of our large group classrooms, top-of-the-line equipment, on-site Registered Dietitian, community- driven staff, and much more, The Fitness Loft is dedicated to giving our members every tool they need to be successful in leading a healthy lifestyle.

The Fitness Loft utilizes state-of-the-art technology developed and mastered by Technogym. The equipment's clean Italian aesthetic and innovative technology has made Technogym a repeated recipient of the prestigious Red Dot Design Award. Technogym's equipment works with The Wellness SystemTM, an integrated wireless software application that simplifies wellness with a Technogym Key. Each member can access their personal account to track their progress, view past and future workouts, and communicate with wellness professionals. Third-party companies, such as fitbitTM, MyFItnessPalTM, and MapMyFitnessTM, integrate seamlessly with Technogym, allowing members to keep track of exercise and nutrition outside of the gym. At The Fitness Loft we believe in the power of combining healthy eating with regular exercise to improve our mind and body, and to become the best version of ourselves.  That's why we have a Precision Nutrition certified Nutrition Coach available to work with members to establish a personalized nutrition plan with the goal of developing sustainable positive eating habits.

Proper nourishment can improve everything from energy levels, to mood, to body composition.  Our nutrition coaching is based on the idea that lasting results are achieved through not only the science behind what to eat and how much to eat, but also by addressing psychological and emotional habits, and planning daily tactics to help you succeed.

Every class is something different and you never know what you’re going to get!! There will always be a mix of strength and cardio all within a 45 minute interval class. Meet outside the North Studio.
BODYPUMP™ is one of the world's fastest ways to get in shape as it challenges all of your major muscle groups while you squat, press, lift and curl. Improve your strength by performing 70-100 repetitions per body part totaling up to 800 repetitions in a single workout.
This intense circuit keeps your heart rate up, burn calories, and tones your whole body. Experience intense cardio intervals, full-body strength moves, and and extra dose of ab work. 
An exhilarating ride every time! This class takes you through steady cadences, climbs, and sprints for one of the best cardiovascular workouts imaginable. 
Deep Release is the Yin to your busy, active life, a practice that encourages a deep sense of physical and emotional wellness.
This 45 minute class is designed to allow the body and mind to open into a deep sense of relaxation and wellness while encouraging detoxification and increased flexibility. Gentle, supported postures are held for between 1 and 5 minutes, recharging the body’s energetic system and inviting the mind to focus inward.
Our Deep Release class is a perfect complement to the more active styles of yoga and great for all levels, to include beginners.
GRIT™ Cardio is a 30-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout that improves cardiovascular fitness, increase speed and maximize calorie burn. This workout uses a variety of body weight exercises and provides the challenge and intensity you need to get results fast.
GRIT™ Plyo is a 30-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) plyometric-based workout, designed to make you perform like an athlete. This workout uses a bench and combines explosive jumping exercises with agility training to increase explosiveness and to build a lean and athletic body.
GRIT™ Strength is a 30-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout, designed to improve strength and build lean muscle. This workout uses barbell, weight plate and body weight exercises to blast all major muscle groups.
This 30-minute class provides a lower intensity introduction to the fun fitness alternative called virtual reality fitness. I'll guide you through all the basics of playing our games before trying it out yourself with two mini-workouts. In the first mini-workout you'll be a virtual fruit ninja and slice and dice a cornucopia of produce, and in the second mini-work, you'll punch the notes of one of your favorite songs -- just come equipped with an open mind and the name of a song you'd like to work out to.
The same pulse-pounding vibe as traditional RPM condensed into a 40 minute format.
RPM™ is the indoor cycling workout where you ride to the rhythm of powerful music. Take on the terrain with your inspiring team coach who leads the pack through hills, flats, mountain peaks, time trials, and interval training.

Step into a virtual archery dojo where you will loose arrows at holographic targets from your bow all while ducking, squatting, and dodging to avoid the projectiles they shoot back at you. You’ll feel like you’re in The Hunger Games! This 30 minute virtual archery combat simulation will test your accuracy, focus, reaction time, and agility. High to Very High Intensity.
Set to electrifying beats, throw jabs, hooks, and uppercuts while squatting and lunging below obstacles in a futuristic training arena. This 30 minute virtual training course will test your coordination, accuracy, and speed. Moderate to High Intensity.
This frenzied soccer goalkeeping will require you to jump, lunge, and swat to defend your goal from the onslaught of soccer balls coming at you. This 30 minute experience will test your focus, agility, reaction time, and balance. Moderate to High Intensity.
Achieve the thrill and the glory of boxing toe to toe in the ring, but without any of the bruised knuckles or black eyes. This 30 minute virtual boxing simulation will test your speed, power, agility, and your will to outlast your opponents and claim victory. High to Very High Intensity.
This flow class is based on the traditional vinyasa style, using breath and movement built strength, cultivate flexibility, and find focus. This moderately paced practice uses fundamental yoga poses and flows to provides a full body workout while stimulating the mind and spirit.
Yoga/Pilates is a method of exercise which emphasizes the balanced development of the body while building on core strength, flexibility, alignment, and balance, all while connecting the mind, body, breath, and spirit. Yoga/Pilates will enhance mobility, agility, stamina, increase core strength, stability, and toning, while lengthening the muscles and increasing range of motion. This exercise is no-impact and easy on muscles and joints. Compliments sports training and develops functional fitness for daily life activity.

hardCORE is a 30 minute express workout that focuses on strengthening and toning core muscles. The class is designed to improve strength and posture as well as appearance.

Fitness Seminars

Seminar at The Fitness Loft - $100 per seminar
Seminar at your business - $150 per seminar

All of our Fitness Seminars include education as well as movement. They are designed to accommodate all fitness levels and are led by degreed and certified Personal Trainers. Recommendations can be made based on the size of your team, time frame, and level of intensity to accommodate any group.

Train While You Travel (100 participant max)
Does your team travel for work? Do they need to have the option to workout from home? This education and fitness seminar will teach them everything they need to know to get an effective workout using only a resistance band and their body weight. Beginning with a warm-up and ending with a stretching session, this seminar will leave them with all the knowledge for beginning or enhancing their current exercise program.

Interval Training (30 participant max)
This cardio based workout begins with an explanation of the benefits of cardiovascular training as well as the importance of training in the correct heart rate ranges for maximum results. The participants will then be lead through a 30 minute interval workout using treadmills, ellipticals, and stationary bikes. Once the workout portion is complete, your team will participate in a cool-down and stretching session. A recap and Q&A session will wrap up the seminar.

Resistance Training (50 participant max)
This seminar will combine education and working out to teach your team different methods of resistance training. They will learn exercises using their body weight, dumbbells, stability balls, medicine balls and BOSUs. They will learn proper form as well as how to design an effective resistance training program on their own.

Studio Cycle (19 participant max)
This cardio workout will have your team wanting to come back for more! We begin by teaching each participant how to properly set up their bike as well as educate them on the importance of proper bike settings. The instructor will then lead them through an interval based workout encouraging them to work at their own level of intensity, while gently pushing them outside their comfort zone! A cool down and light stretching segment will leave them refreshed and ready for what the day may bring!

Synrgy 360 (20 participant max)
Synergy: Noun, the interaction of elements that when combined produce a total effect that is greater than the sum of the individual elements, contributions, etc.; synergism. This workout based seminar will prove that working as a team will produce greater results than working as an individual. Synrgy 360 will require your team to cheer on as well as push each other to continue the circuit at their own level of intensity. A team building “bonus” and stretching session wrap up this seminar.

Education Seminars

All educational seminars are led by degreed and certified Wellness Professionals and are available at The Conference Room (100 participant max) or at your business. Available in 30 and 60 minute seminar times.

Importance of Activity - 10,000 step program
This seminar addresses the risks of a sedentary lifestyle and offers many solutions of how to become more active in your daily life. Our professionals explain how even if you workout 3 times per week you may still lead a sedentary life outside of the gym. Instructions on the 10,000 step program as well as a comparison of pedometers and other activity trackers will wrap up this session.
Option to purchase activity trackers for your team (30 day notice).

“We’ve got your back” - A low back pain prevention program
Do you have low back pain or know someone who does? Chances are the answer is yes. This educational seminar will address the main causes of low back pain, treatment, prevention, and even when to see a physician, teaching participants to focus on the cause of the pain, not the symptoms! Ending with a Q&A session, this seminar will leave all participants with a plan to combat their pain.

Health at your desk/ Tech Neck- avoiding upper cross syndrome
If you spend the majority of your workday at a desk or staring at a computer this seminar is for you! Upper Cross Syndrome is now commonly referred to as “tech neck” because it is just as prevalent in office workers as it is in the elderly. During this seminar you will learn tips to utilize at work, in the car, at home, and at the gym to help improve posture and alleviate pain from sitting all day.

Designing a workout program
If you are ready to begin working out or need to revamp your current workout routine, this seminar will help you with your game plan! You will learn the importance of strength training, cardiovascular exercise, and stretching as well as recommendations for each, based on your fitness goals.

Nutrition Seminars

All Nutrition seminars are led by Alexis Joseph MS, RD, LD, who is a Registered Dietitian with a master’s degree in Nutrition. Each seminar includes an “ask the dietitian” discussion to wrap up the 60 minute session. All nutrition seminars are available at The Conference Room (100 participant max) or at your business.

Supermarket Savvy: Reading Food Labels
From calories and grams of sugar to lengthy ingredient lists, reading labels can be quite the challenge! In this seminar, you’ll learn what exactly to look for when it comes to reading food labels in order to become healthier and more efficient at the grocery store and at home. This seminar will teach you how to step beyond the nutrition facts and analyze what exactly is in your food to make the most nutritionally sound choices for your body.

Clean Eating: How to Stock A Healthy Pantry
A healthy lifestyle is nearly impossible without a well-stocked kitchen. This class will set you on the path toward overall healthy eating by teaching you how to build a better pantry. Knowing how to stock a nutritious kitchen means healthy food is always available for quick meal prep—critical for weight management! You’ll learn which ingredients to avoid and what the best pantry and refrigerator staples are for long-term health.

Fueling for Fitness
Wondering what to eat before and after working out in order to build muscle and maximize your health? This class will teach you about the importance of eating the correct balance of macronutrients both before and after exercising in order to boost performance, energy, and well-being. You’ll also learn how to properly hydrate and which supplements are best for you.

New Wave Nutrition: Superfoods
From chia seeds to quinoa, there are numerous healthy foods gaining “superfood” status these days. This class will teach you what it means to be a superfood and the variety of health benefits these foods offer. You’ll also learn how to incorporate these nutrient-dense foods into your daily life for improved health.

Healthy Recipes & Cooking Tips
Cooking nutritious meals at home is one of the best ways to manage weight and develop healthy eating habits; but finding healthy and tasty recipes isn’t easy! In this seminar, you’ll learn to how to develop realistic meal plans and transform standard (and often unhealthy) recipes into nourishing recipes that you’ll use time and time again.

Supplements 101
With all the misinformation in the media, finding safe and effective supplements that are right for your body can be a major struggle. In this seminar, you’ll learn about popular supplements on the market, including their function, safety, and whether or not they actually work!

Eating Healthy When Eating Out
Enjoying a restaurant meal doesn’t mean you have to sabotage your diet. This session will teach you the tips and tricks to making the best decisions while dining out, from proper portion control to smart ordering. Vegan, Vegetarian, Paleo, Gluten Free? Fad Diets - What’s right for me?
Whether it’s giving up gluten, grains, dairy, or meat, there’s always a new and exciting diet popping up the media! While there are numerous fad diets that fail to produce long-term results, what about the diets that actually improve health or weight management? This class will teach you about the pros and cons of today’s hottest diets and which one (if any) may be best for you.

10 Easy Ways to Improve Your Health
With chronic disease on the rise, it’s critical to take steps to improve long-term health each day. The good news is that you don’t have to spend two hours at a gym to do so! This seminar will teach you how to embrace daily habits to boost nutrition, such as better breakfasts and smarter snacking.

The screen will give you valuable information that will assist you in both your exercise and nutritional programs. The information will allow you and our professionals to create better, smarter and more individualized programs for you. With the information provided you will have the ability to work closely with our Fitness and Nutrition Professionals to start improving your health from the inside out.
