Massage Therapy
Treatment Types
-
Sports Massage Therapy is a specialized form of massage designed to assist individuals engaged in physical activity. It focuses on areas of the body that are subjected to stress and strain during athletic endeavors. It employs a range of techniques such as Swedish massage strokes, deep tissue work, neuromuscular therapy, and joint mobilizations. This therapy aims to increase circulation, reduce muscle tension, improve tissue elasticity, and promote mental calmness.
-
Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT), also known as Trigger Point Therapy, is a massage technique that applies focused pressure to relieve muscle tension and release trigger points, which are knots that cause referred pain to other areas of the body.
Beneficial for chronic pain, muscle injuries, and conditions like sciatica and migraines, NMT enhances blood flow and mobility by addressing the connection between the nervous system and muscles.
-
Myofascial Release is an effective massage therapy that targets the fascia, the connective tissue surrounding muscles and organs. Through slow pressure and stretching, it alleviates pain and restores mobility by releasing fascial restrictions often caused by injury, poor posture, or muscle imbalances. This therapy is particularly beneficial for conditions such as fibromyalgia and chronic back pain, promoting overall healing and balance within the body.
-
Cupping therapy is an ancient deep tissue modality achieved by placing cups on the skin while adding a vacuum-like effect. This method is proven to help stretch muscle and fascia, stimulate blood flow to specific areas, and break down adhesions in soft tissue. This service is typically 30 minutes. It can also be incorporated into any massage session for an additional $15 upon request.
